You're on your own, but you don't have to be alone. Join a Learning Circle!
What is a Learning Circle?
It's an informal group of people with like interests who gather to share discussions, information, experiences while learning together and applying new skills.
You already know how time consuming, overwhelming (and lonely) it can be to market your mediation practice. So much to learn, try and do- so much on the line.
Learning Circles help focus your energies and information in a structured way so that you achieve more in a shorter period of time, avoid mistakes and benefit from the support of others.
We will debut two of our Learning Circles, Family and Workplace, in December 2007. Our Learning Circles are an essential member benefit of ADRPracticebuilder.com so each member belongs to at least one group.
Why Join a Learning Circle?
It's interactive
You probably already know that the best learning for adults takes place when there's an exchange of ideas, opinions and strategies. As a Circle member, you'll meet other mediators who share your passion about your niche and have different perspectives and talents to offer. We'll teach each other. And, you know how great the outcomes can be when folks work together to find solutions, right?
It's efficient
Wouldn't it be great to have one source to ask your questions or learn about ecommerce? Each month, interested members or
the moderator will make a 10 minute Lightening Presentation on a topic of interest to the group. Your Circle is a repository of useful information and tools that everyone can share without spending hours on the internet or at the
library.
It's a collective
You'll be able to network with mediators across the nation and the world who are building mediation practices just like you. We encourage Circle members to use our Member Roster to talk and collaborate 'offline'. The partnerships you create will grow your skills, your practice, your network and your income.
It's a safe haven
It's normal to feel a bit tentative when you're trying new skills like writing a press release or an ebook. Or, practicing a new elevator pitch. That's where the Learning Circle really shines. You'll be part of a group that's eager for your success and open to giving you the feedback and support you need to achieve it.
How Does it Work?
It's pretty simple. Each month your Learning Circle will meet via bridgeline for 90 minutes.
You'll update the group on your recent successes, challenges or activities. Then, one member will give a brief 10 minute Lightening Presentation on a topic- either of your own choosing or one the group is interested in. We'll discuss it, then tackle any questions or issues in the group. All meetings will be recorded and sent as an MP3 file to members.
Although members set the agenda, you could expect your Learning Circle to cover topics like these:
- determining your niche
- finding research sources
- developing an elevator pitch
- writing an article or series
- setting up a blog
- much more!
To ensure the group has an abundance of feedback and ideas, each Circle member is asked to participate in no less than 8 of the total 12 sessions.
What about Logistics?
Each Circle will set it's own meeting day, time and agenda, which will be accomplished on the very first meeting. Once registered, Circle members will get a reminder email each month with the dial in information and the topic of the meeting.
